June 2, 2015

Today, it was a work day for everyone to work on their final project. For me, I worked on my website because I knew that is what I would have the most trouble with.I learned how to change the title and also the heading page while I was in class. I worked and almost got it completed before I started losing interest, so I moved on to another classes homework. I then later finished my website at home and was all good to go. I also did my lesson plan at home later on.

May 26, 2015

Today we started out class with a guest speaker. We learned and went through all of the different options of Wordpress. I feel pretty comfortable with Wordpress and I am sure that is what I will use for my final project.
After the presentation and learning all the different options, we went back into Dream Weaver and learned some new tools to help us change the font and also alter the pictures. Dream Weaver is a lot more complicated for me to understand because I do not understand coding at all and I am always lost. I understood what we did for the most part today, but would never be able to create a website on my own.
Finally, we had some free time to do some brainstorming and working on our final project. I have a good idea what I am going to do, but I'm not confident it will work out when I go to do the project. Guess we will find out here soon!

May 12, 2015

Today we started the class by finding different apps that would work in the classroom. The app that I found was a geography quiz game and it was rather hard. It would be used for high school students to learn places around the world. It showed capitals around the world and famous places that are well known. This is something that could be useful when learning place.

Next, we went into building a lesson plan for the app that we found. We answered the questions and filled out the template that was provided for us.

Once that was done, we started making our own app. For making our app, we started out in photo shop creating the title page. Once done with that we added it into our app and starting making the app our own. We changed all of the content to match what our app was going to be. This took some rather long time because there was a lot to change. Once it was done though, it looked good and was rather easy to do.

May 5, 2015

This week we started by looked at a variety of different websites and seeing whether they were fake or real. Some of the websites looked real at first but when looking deeper into them we found out that they were not real. The website I had looked at looked some what real, but then I looked into the director and he seemed a little weird. Other websites we could tell right away that they were fake due to the bad lay out or spelling and grammer errors. We spent time looking at all of the websites and talking about them.
Next we went and started learning and looking at podcasts. We spent some time looking up different ones that were done on itunes. The one that I found was a review about volcanoes and it was one a teacher had made. Finally, we learned how to make our own and started into the assignment. I have not chose what I am going to do, but I know it will turn out good.

April 21, 2015

Today we started the day by finishing out movie. My group actually came in two hours before class and finished it. If I do say so myself, I think we did a pretty good job. After that when class started we went into making the short trailer videos on the iPad. I had a group of four and we did a video of environmental man. All four of us were in the movie though. The movie didn't turn out too bad for only having thirty minutes to complete it.
After the iPad trailers were finished, we went into starting out Google Earth project. We learned how to pin a location and add a picture, and link that went along with it. Also we leaned the coding for how to add page breaks, and added that as well. I started mine, but did not finish and we were a little short on time. I think I am going to choose five places I have visited around the world and tie that all in together. It should be really cool when I am done and I get to make the actual tour. I will have to finish at my house and turn it in later.

April 14th, 2015

Today we started the day by finishing up our photoshop project and uploading it on to flickr. After that we started right into making a video and learning about various videos that are used in an education setting. We watching two videos that students from other school have made in the past and we analyzed them. We said what we like and the reactions that we got from them. One was good and showed how video making and technology can change a students life and give them something to be involved in. The second video was rather busy and had great points that not everyone learns by teachers lecturing at them.
Next, we got into groups and figured out what the main point of our video is going to be. My group chose to do the idea of recycling and focusing on Oregon itself. We decided we are going to do some interviews and add pictures, then finally do a video of us in an ocean...if it all turns out okay. We now are going to start our filming and finding pictures to add to the imovie.
We found some powerful pictures of fish stuck in plastic and plastic bottles that are filling up landfills. We are now going to interview people on our own time and come back later and put everything together. We want to video outside but are going to regroup at a later time when it is nicer outside and we are able to get better footage.
Today my group got a lot done, but we have a long way to go and will regroup next week and finish the project to make it complete and as good as we can make it.

April 7th, 2015

Today we started by looking at some pictures of different people on the big screen, and trying to identify if they were real or photoshopped. It was very challenging to figure out if it was a real or fake photo. With the skill of many people they can make fake photos look real.
After that, we started to find the the three pictures that we wanted to put together to make one outstanding photo. That seemed like a really easy task to complete, but I was wrong and I struggled a lot more that I thought I would. I finally found some photos that would go together and make the final product look half way descent.
It took a long time for me to figure out where I wanted to put my bush and how light/dark it should be to blend in okay. Once the bush was in place I added the plane and did not have to do too many adjustments with that. Last, I added the words and changed the font at the top to figure out what one would go best. I chose to leave the letters black to stand out and it looked more professional to me. The final product was then changed to a JPG and uploaded to flickr.
The project was more complicated than I had originally imagined, but I think I worked through the struggles okay. It was very stressful at first when I had a lot of information thrown that me and I was overwhelmed. Overall though, I think it turned out okay and I have better knowledge of how to work photoshop.

March 30th-Introduction/Day1

Today in, Tech in Education, we had a three hour class that consisted of introducing ourselves to the class and getting to know each other a little more. We also learned how to set up and make a Gmail account for all of the websites we will have to sign up for. After that we signed up for our first website, which was flickr. Flickr is a website in which pictures are shared and also edit. You are able to share pictures with each other and able to edit and add all sorts of cool and neat pictures.
To end the class period we looked over what web 2.0 is and shared some ideas which are considered to be in web 2.0. Some of those things included social media, shared folders and wiki websites. Those are all things that people are able to access and comment and interact with other people. Finally, we looked at a puzzle maker website that would cos you $40 dollars to make, but we then went onto google, and found other alternatives that are puzzles are free. To end the class we set up our blogger accounts and learned how to access them and start blogging.
